The American premiere of the Abbey Theatre and Royal Court production of David Ireland's Cyprus Avenue will open at the Public Theater June 25. Cyprus Avenue, directed by Vicky Featherstone, tells the story of a British man in Ireland trying to make sense of a radically changed world. A Belfast Unionist and “non-negotiably British,” his sanity begins to unravel when he discovers a likeness between his newborn granddaughter and the Irish republican leader, Gerry Adams.
