The world premiere of Log Cabin, by Pulitzer Prize finalist Jordan Harrison, began performances at Playwrights Horizons June 1. The new ensemble-driven drama, directed by Tony winner Pam MacKinnon, features a cast led by stage and screen star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.

Set in 2015, “a faraway age of hope and inclusivity,“ Log Cabin sees a tight-knit group of gays and lesbians consider the new mainstream through the eyes of their transgender friend.

Completing the cast are Phillip James Brannon (Antipodes, Bootycandy), Cindy Cheung (High Maintenance, 13 Reasons Why), stand-up comic and actor Ian Harvie (Transparent, The Ian Harvie Show), Talene Monahon (Tell Hector I Miss Him, The Wild Party), and Dolly Wells (The Whirligig, Bridget Jones’s Diary).

Log Cabin will officially open June 25 in the company’s Mainstage Theater. Performances are scheduled through July 15.

Log Cabin features scenic design by Tony Award nominee Allen Moyer, costume design by Lortel Award winner Jessica Pabst, lighting design by Obie Award winner Russell H. Champa, and sound design by Lortel Award winner Leah Gelpe. The production stage manager is Amanda Spooner, and John C. Moore is the assistant stage manager.
