Gwen Verdon, a Broadway star of the 20th century, was born January 13, 1925. The legendary actor died at age 75 in 2000, but in celebration of what would have been her 93rd birthday, we’re taking a look back at her stage career.

Verdon received four Tony Awards over the course of her three-decade career on Broadway, all for legendary performances: Can-Can in 1954; Damn Yankees in 1956; New Girl in Town in 1958; and 1959 for Redhead. She was also nominated for Tony Awards for her performances in Sweet Charity and Chicago.
