Bat Out of Hell will begin performances at the Dominion Theatre April 2.

The musical is based on the cult 1977 Meat Loaf album of the same name (which Steinman helped write). The show features several of the album’s iconic songs, including “You Took The Words Right Out Of My Mouth,” “Bat Out Of Hell, “I Would Do Anything For Love (But I Won’t Do That),” and “Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad,” as well as two previously unreleased songs: “What Part of My Body Hurts the Most” and “Not Allowed to Love.”

The story, set against a post-cataclysmic backdrop, follows the romantic adventure of Strat and Raven. Andrew Polec and Christina Bennington, who played Strat and Raven, respectively, in the West End previously, are in negotiations to return to the show at the Dominion Theatre.

Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Bat Out Of Hell features a book, music, and lyrics by Steinman, direction by Jay Scheib, choreography by Emma Portner, musical supervision and additional arrangements by Michael Reed, set design by Jon Bausor, costume design by Jon Bausor and Meentje Nielsen, video design by Finn Ross, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, orchestrations by Steve Sidwell, casting by David Grindrod Associates, and musical direction by Robert Emery.

Bat Out Of Hell is currently playing in Toronto through January 7, 2018.
