In the show, Cale reflects on a childhood spent escaping from his parents' unhappy marriage by singing and taking care of birds in the backyard. He is accompanied by a six-piece orchestra.

We're Only Alive for a Short Amount of Time began performances June 13 and is scheduled to run through July 14.

The Off-Broadway production features scenic design by Kevin Depinet; costume design by Paul Marlow; lighting design by Jennifer Tipton; sound design by Mikhail Fiksel; and arrangements and music direction by Marsh.
